I saw a video a few days ago that had a balloon pop and reveal it was full of plexus style particulates. I wanted to play with the concept a little. So I did.
These also doubled as a chance to test out and get familiar with the rad character animation plugin Rubber Hose
I shot this on my old 30d the night before the 4th of July.
This was an experiment with doing macro time-lapse. (The pinecone is about the size of your thumbnail) I thought it would be interesting to have shadows move over the pinecone, but it turned out it was much more interesting just having it in the sun and watching it open up some. I will definitely be playing with this more.

Today I went to the zoo with my buddy. T’was a lovely time and we’ll being going again in a couple weeks! As has become the norm, this was shot on my phone. Phones are pretty crazy these days.

It looks like it has meaning and quality till you look closer.
If you haven’t played with the flame renderer in Adobe Photoshop it’s a funny tool that can get you some cool results quickly. Here’s about 10 minutes of playing around with the letters ASDFGH.
One of my favorite activities is to go back and see what I can add to old photos. Sometimes to try to make them work better, others just for the sake of the action of adding something. This definitely falls into the later category.
I also spend a lot of time toying around an experimenting with ideas. 99% of These never get finished and remain hidden little bits of practice. They’re one of my favorite things though. It’s a good mental reset to space out and see what your hands can make.
