From the train

I did a day trip up to Vancouver BC a few days ago and popped this off on the train up in the morning.

The Show at the Beach

Watching reflections is always enjoyable. This held true on the fourth of July as well.

I spent the night watching for the flicker of a lighter, then get ready to start the long exposure.

The glowing orb is the moon. It’s been bright these past nights.

I have dozens of these, but I feel like the novelty of it wears off quick.

But I may as well include one more for good measure.

And to follow the tradition, I took some normal fireworks photos as well.FinishedIMG_1932

This looks small, but for scale reference, look at the house and the people in the lower left corner. It was definitely not small.

This looks like a palm tree, which means it’s about time for me to make like a tree and leaf!

From Above

As the Memorial Day fair was being set up in Portland.

Forest Path Shadows

Pools of light are the most mobil pools around. Honestly I was taking a nap on the side of the trail over the 30 minutes or so this was cooking. The temperature was just too comfortable not to.

Rolling Clouds

Last week I took a much needed day off and time-lapsed a few clouds. I love watching time-lapse of clouds. It gives them life and movement that are almost impossible to grasp by just watching them in person. Soon as to changes the speed and context though, they give the sky a mood and a story.

These were in about a 4 mile area in the hills outside of Wenatchee.

The day was lovely enough, that even with four applications of sunblock, I managed to get sunburns.

In the lens

I was cleaning a couple of lenses and got thuroughly distracted by how pretty the reflections were

Handheld Time Lapse

Time lapse of a single song from Bayside tonight at the Showbox in Seattle. Shot handheld on my cellular device then cleaned and stabilized.

The Lovely Things at the Zoo

Today I went to the zoo with my buddy. T’was a lovely time and we’ll being going again in a couple weeks! As has become the norm, this was shot on my phone. Phones are pretty crazy these days.

After and Before Image Clean Up

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a mediocre photographer. To make up for that though, I am good at post production. (Which is good because I’d be out of work if I wasn’t) This example is a bit of an extreme case of how much things get cleaned up after the fact, but ultimately everything gets some treatment.

The Hike Down

Lake Serene 1

A couple of quick images from hiking last weekend with my roommate and his girlfriend. Lightly experimenting with putting alternate colors into images.
